About Louis Spetrino

Louis developed a passion for cinema at a very early age. Spetrino fell in love with movies while watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in the movie theater. He wrote his first screenplay when he was just ten years old. During his youth, he produced several short films and skits on a VHS camcorder with his friends. By the time he was in High School he had already written several feature length scripts. Spetrino graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in Film in 2001.

Spetrino grew up in a family with multiple alcoholics, and drew from that experience for his final film project in college. Spetrino wrote, directed and edited The Battle a 16mm black and white short film. The Battle is about a man struggling to chose between alcohol and his family. The Battle was accepted to film festivals all over the country.

In 2002 Spetrino’s father, who was always very supportive of his dream to be a filmmaker provided Spetrino with $10,0000 to make a feature film. Spetrino wrote and directed his first feature Ringolivio in 2002. Ringolivio is a teen horror film based on a neighborhood game that he played as child. Ringolivio was filmed over 8 days in his hometown of Stratford, CT. The cast of was made up of acting students from the University of Hartford. The film was screened a couple of times for friends and family at local movie theaters. It was also given a front page review in the CT Post.

Spetrino has produced two other feature films. Your Turn, a dark thriller was produced a year after his father lost his battle with cancer, remains unfinished. Incomplete, which is a feature that Spetrino wrote and directed in 2015 was produced for $300.00 and is available to view in its entirety.

Spetrino began filming weddings as a way to continue his passion of telling stories through cinema, and to make a steady income. In his first year, he booked 90 weddings. His business quickly exploded and consumed most of his time for ten years. To date, Spetrino has proudly produced over 400 weddings. He is looking forward to providing his unique brand of Wedding Films to couples in 2022 and beyond. “I’m passionate about producing Wedding Films, because they provide a unique opportunity to tell a personal love story in a cinematic way.”

On the corporate side Spetrino began providing video production services to many local small and large businesses. Some of his clients include the companies: ReallY Good Stuff, Tri-City Heating and Cooling, Mystics by the Sea, Scalzo Realty, etc…

In 2010 Spetrino began providing video services to the Stratford Public Schools. He was brought in to film the monthly board meetings in 2010. While spending time in the district, Spetrino recognized a greater need for his services. He put together a proposal of services that he felt would create a greater connection and level of understanding between the general public and the school system. Through this arrangement, Spetrino has produced a series of highlight films, professional development videos, principal profiles, presentations, and a daily news cast for the elementary schools in the district. Out of all the work Spetrino has and continues to do, he is most proud of the work he does for Stratford.

Spetrino is currently in pre-production on “Try Again.” “Try Again” is a feature length suspense thriller that Spetrino wrote and will be directing. The story is contained, and will primarily be filmed in one location. The first day of shooting is scheduled for December 17, 2022.

Spetrino is also developing “Brain Break: The Show,” which a sketch comedy/news show that is meant to be played in elementary classrooms. It is an extension of the Elementary News Network. The show features each of his 5 children in staring roles.
